We have the 1st Annual "Christmas Under the Stars" Mayor's Christmas tree lighting this Friday at 6 pm, located at Herman Dierks Memorial Park.  

This event is put on by the Sevier County Chamber of Commerce, the Sevier County Economic Development, and the City of De Queen.  It will feature the following:

• Mayor's speech to the Community and lighting of the 40 ft Leyland Cypress that was donated to the City of De Queen

• Opening prayer with Micah Martin, First State Insurance

• De Queen High School Choir singing Christmas Carols

• De Queen High School Jazz Band playing Christmas music

• MC by Ed88 Radio Station

• Healthcare Express handing out free popcorn, playing an outside movie "The Grinch that Stole Christmas," and collecting unwrapped toys for Toys for Tots

• First Christian Church serving free hot cocoa and collecting non-perishable food items for families in need during the Holidays

• Dr. Randy Walker's office in the Grinch costume handing out items for the kids

• Cookies donated by Subway in De Queen
