LITTLE ROCK – Governor Asa Hutchinson provided today's update on Arkansas's COVID-19 response.

In its Friday update, the Arkansas Department of Health reported 2,770 new cases; 20,706 active cases; 1,059 hospitalized, which is up 54 from Thursday; 185 on ventilators, which is up 4 from Thursday; deaths added today, 55, for a total of 2,875; a total of 181,624 cases; 137,401 recoveries; PCR tests, 15,516; antigen tests, 3,537.

The Health Department reported that the top counties for new cases are Pulaski, 297; Washington, 248; Benton, 205; Faulkner, 128; and Saline, 127.

Governor Hutchinson released the following statement on today’s COVID-19 numbers:

“We have once again reached a grave milestone in this pandemic. 55 Arkansans lost their lives yesterday as a result of COVID-19. While we may have hope ahead from promising vaccine news, we cannot grow weary over the next few weeks. This virus spreads easily and can infect any of us. Please take proper precautions."

In its Friday update, the Arkansas Department of Health reported 1,052 new cases; 16,908 active cases; 1,011 hospitalized, which is up 8 from Thursday; 192 on ventilators, which is up 23 from Thursday; no deaths added today, for a total of 2,436; a total of 153,677 cases; 119,558 recoveries; PCR tests, 9,330; antigen tests, 355.
