Terry Anderson of UA Cossatot is the #NJCAAMBB DII Player of the Week
Terry Anderson of UA Cossatot is the #NJCAAMBB DII Player of the Week. The 6'7" Deer Park, Texas freshman picked up two double-doubles this week, including a 40-point, 24-rebound performance. This game was the highest scoring and rebounding outing in program history.
UA Cossatot Colts Head Coach and Athletic Director, Robert Byrd praised Anderson after the NJCAA announcement saying, “This is a well-deserved award for Terry. He puts on his hard hat and works extremely hard every single day both on and off the court and I am glad that he is getting national recognition."
UA Cossatot Chancellor, Dr. Steve Cole said, "Coach Byrd is building a special basketball program at UA Cossatot and it all starts with special athletes. Terry is one of those athletes. Ever since signing to be a Colt he has just personified what it means to be a student athlete. We could not be more proud of Terry and all of our Colts teams. They are getting very good very quickly."
UA Cossatot travels to Harrison on Thursday, March 11 to face North Arkansas Community College. The Lady Colts play at 5:30 PM, with the men's game to follow. Fans can watch and listen live on ed88radio.com.

Coach Robert Byrd of UA Cossatot at De Queen Lions Club Meeting on Tuesday
De Queen Lions Club member, Athletic Director and UA Cossatot Head Basketball Coach, Robert Byrd, gave an update of the Colts and Lady Colts teams and the upcoming drawdown on April 2nd in Lockesburg at Tuesday’s Lions Club Meeting in De Queen.
Colts Basketball Games Postponed in Little Rock Today
UA Cossatot Head Basketball Coach and Athletic Director, Robert Byrd, tells Ed 88 that today's scheduled games in Little Rock at Arkansas Baptist have been postponed due to road conditions in central Arkansas.
Drawdown and Fish Dinner Benefit Coming to UA Cossatot March 12th
UA Cossatot will host TWO drawdowns for UA Cossatot’s Colts and Lady Colts! It will be held on Friday, March 12, 2021. The first drawdown starts at 5:30 PM and the second drawdown at 7:30 PM at the UA Cossatot Bank of Lockesburg Gymnasium. Dr. Steve Cole and Loren Hinton will emcee the event. Head Coach and Athletic Director, Robert Byrd and the entire Colts and Lady Colts teams will be in attendance to root on each ticket holder!
How does a Drawdown work?
Tickets are eliminated until only one is left. The last ticket on the board is the winner of the Drawdown prize. The last ten (10) people holding tickets are given the option to keep drawing and eliminating tickets or to split the money among themselves. All must agree to split or keep drawing until they all agree or only one is left as the winner. Winner does not have to be present to win.

De Queen Lions Club "Feed the Colts Night" at UA Cossatot
De Queen Lions Club fed the Colts Basketball Team smoked brisket sandwiches Wednesday evening at UA Cossatot. De Queen Lions plan to feed the Lady Colts today at lunch. The Lady Colts were out of town last night at a scrimmage game at East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, Texas.
Coach Robert Byrd Guest Speaker at Tuesday's De Queen Lions Club Noon Meeting
Robert Byrd, Athletic Director and head basketball coach of UA Cossatot Men’s and Women’s teams, was the guest speaker at Tuesday’s Noon Meeting of the De Queen Lions Club.
Meagan Blanton of the De Queen Lions Club presented Tony Stowers, pastor of De Queen Church of Christ, with a $250 check to help with the church’s food pantry.
